There is confusion over forms from the Indian High Commission as they are headed "Affidavit" and the wording states "Declare" At the recent support group meeting the trainer confirmed that our mandate to take declarations and affidavits only applies within New Zealand. In general the policy with overseas documents, in whatever form, is that we merely witness a signature.

The Indian High Commission should be contacted to clarify what they want.

As with most overseas forms we have no jurisdiction over Indian ones as JP's, so all we can do is witness the client's signature, which is apparently accepted by the Indian High Commission.
