Something new for me the other day was that after witnessing a declaration of a Person Executing a Land Transfer document (Form 27) I was then presented with another declaration (Form 28) in which I was to make a declaration that I was the person taking the original declaration. I did not fill it out because I could not sign my own declaration and there was no JP handy to witness it. Is this extra declaration really necessary? Are we as JPs not trusted?
