A client presented a declaration form from an insurance company and was told by the company that the JP must add the time the declaration was signed otherwise it would be rejected. I was annoyed at this as I do not feel that organisations should dictate what the JP must do beyond what is legally required. However in sympathy for the client I added the time next to the date. I feel that if organisations are to demand special services from JPs no matter how minor they may be they should offer compensation by way of a donation to the local JP association.
